Four clubs have made it to the semifinals of the Neros Anambra FA cup both in the men and women’s division. Semifinals encounters will begin tomorrow for the female as defending champions, Maureen Mmadu Football Kiddies Club will tackle debutants Rising stars of Ojoto at the Awka City stadium by 2pm.
Maureen Madu Football Kiddies Club defeated Awka Angels in last year’s decider to lift the maiden edition of the Neros Anambra FA women’s cup. The loosing finalist, Awka Angels will take on another debutant, GP World FA Ladies in the second match to be played at the same Awka City stadium by 4pm. Winners of the two matches will advance to the finals and the right to represent Anambra state in the Federation Cup at the National level
In the men’s semifinals, Edel FC of Anambra will take on Global FC of Onitsha in the first semifinals that will be played by 2pm at the Neros stadium Nanka. The second match will be between high flying Ozalla FC of Awada Onitsha and Peace FC of Awka. All matches are shaping up to be must-watch encounters. The winners of these two games will have the tickets to fly the state’s flag at the National Federation Cup and contest for the huge price money from the sponsor Neros Pharmaceuticals.
