Coach Solomon Ogbeide having won the inconclusive Nigerian professional League (NPFL) with Lobi stars football club of Markudi and went further again to prove critics wrong as far as the CAF Champions League is concerned.
It’s being a while Nigerian club side got to the group stage of CAF Champions League.
Coach Solomon Ogbede did that in a grand style at the expense Gor Mahia of Kenya a formidable side and the man who came close to being rival to coach Solomon Ogbede for the coach of the year is coach Gbenga Ogunbote which Rangers Int’l have qualify for the CAF confederation Cup group stage.
It could be recalled that coach Solomon Ogbede defeated coach Ogunbote in the League both home and away.
Rangers lost to Lobi stars of Markudi both home and away in the League.
And again to crown it all Lobi defeated Rangers again in the Super Cup in Asaba ,to make it three times Lobi Stars defeated Rangers in a season .
With that remarkable achievement, no doubt coach Solomon Ogbede deserves to be awarded the coach of the year 2018 for his outstanding performance with Lobi stars football club of Markudi , before the commencement of the season nobody actually gave them a chance, they were on top of the log for many weeks till the league came to an end.
That shows character, that shows believe, a team which is eager to win the league this season.
In line to this, i think with all sense of authority as a media practitioner coach Solomon Ogbede deserves to be awarded coach of the year 2018.
