Coach Monday Odigie of Insurance FC has said that it’s too early for his side to dream about the league following thier nervy 1-0 win against Enyimba yesterday as he stated that the journey is still far while hopefully for more addition.
The newly promoted Edo based team remains unbeaten going into the break for the second phase of the 2022/2023 NPFL abridged league format topping Group A with twenty three (23) points.
In nine (9) games played, they have won seven (7) and drawn two (2), the only side with a perfect record in the league.
“I’m good, I just thank God for the victory that we were able to scale through this game, it wasn’t an easy one but we will now allow the players to recover, replenish and see how we can go back and correct the mistakes we made,” Odigie stated in his post match reactions.
“If it’s possible bring some new folks to the occasion because that’s why the league is going on break for people to go back and try to come back stronger,” he hinted on the team’s need for recruitment.
“So, we hope we will be able to find one or two to join us as we try to fight for what’s before us.”
On the tag of title favorites, he allayed that it’s too early, “this is just the first half and when the league starts, we will play a return leg at Aba and like I said, we will try and go back and correct our mistakes.”
“See how we can build on our strength because this team isn’t an easy one so nobody can start to talk about league or whatever, you just take one game after the other and see how well we can go,” he concluded.
