With two days ahead of the much-anticipated TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023, the CAF Organising Committee met on Friday afternoon in Cairo and commended the host nation for the preparations of the competition.
The TotalEnergies U20 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled between Sunday 19 February to 11 March 2023.
The meeting, chaired by Chairman of CAF Organising Committee for Youth Football Souleiman Waberi, noted the progress made in the preparations for the competition.
The Organising Committee, that was attended also by Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) President Gamal Allam, CAF Chief Operations Officer, Abi Ijasanmi commended Egypt for the work done in the three cities: Cairo, Alexandria and Ismailia.
Waberi said the U20 age category was key in showcasing that Africa remains the hub of top talent globally.
CAF has seen an overwhelming interest in the competition from top scouts from many clubs in Africa and Europe.

Twelve (12) nations are taking part in this 23rd edition: Egypt, Senegal, Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda, Central African Republic, South Sudan, Congo, The Gambia, Tunisia, Benin and Zambia.
The teams that reach the semi-finals will automatically qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup-Indonesia from 20 May to 11 June 2023.
