Free-scoring Central Defender, Ifeanyi Emmanuel has been unanimously voted January Plateau United Player of the month.
The former defunct Mountain of Fire and Miracles MFM player , who only joined the Peace Boys August last year , is now a mainstay in the Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu team.
The hardworking player is one of the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL highest goals scorer after notching up four goals so far in the abridged league, to become Plateau United leading scorer.
Ifeanyi whose combination with Christopher Nweze in the heart of the Peace Boys is now showing signs of compatibility has also scored three goals for Plateau United in the team’s campaign in the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup
An elated Ifeanyi who was overwhelmed with the recognition, dedicated the award to God and thanked his teammates for the support and encouragement.
” Am really excited with this award , because it shows that my modest contributions to the team’s progress is been appreciated by my teammates and coaches and I pledged to do more for the collective aspirations of the team” the soft-spoken player said.
The Plateau United Player of the month award which was initiated by Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu on assumption of office in 2021, is aimed at encouraging the players to give in their best by creating a health atmosphere for them to vie for places in the team.
