Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United, Diepreye Teibowei is very confident that his team can beat thier drop in the 2022/23 NPFL and salvage thier season as he hails team’s brave fight against Niger Tornadoes.
Bayelsa United picked up a much needed point in thier 1-1 away draw against Niger Tornadoes but Teibowei felt that they could have won the gone if his players had been more clinical enough.
“We came into this match knowing fully well that we are in a tight situation, believing to get the maximum three points but unfortunately for us, we were unable to convert our last chance, it would have given us that three points,” he reflected in his post match interview.
“Well, we got one point and I think it’s a fair result, a good one. We are happy but I wish we got all the points obviously that would have been better and more favorable.”
On if his team can escape the drop after a strings of woeful results, Teibowei remains optimistic that can get head on and stay on course as he expects few new signings and return of injured players.
“Ofcourse, I know that Bayelsa United will escape the drop because when we play games, we keep throwing away our chances away and it’s just unfortunate that we aren’t clinical enough.”
“As you can see, a clear opportunity that could have given us a goal but we lost it but I believe that the team is good and with the injection of some one or two new players and some players coming back from injury, I think we will be able to beat the drop,” he concluded.
