Defending champions Christ the Way Secondary Schools today thrashed their counterparts, Queen of Angles 8-0 in defence of their title .
The defending Champions of All Secondary School championships (Female football categories) continued where they stopped in the last edition by outplaying the new girls , Queen of Angels.
Talented Igwemadu Chinaza scored 4 beautiful goals in the first half, the super striker was a hand full for the defence line of Queen of Angels.
The second half produced four goals to seal the victory for the defending champions who are now leading group A with 3 points and 8 goals advantage .
The opening ceremony was graced by many students across Nnewi and environs, many sports lovers. The one sided game which was entertainment left fans to be cheering the flow of the game for the whole duration of play.
Players of Queen of Angles went crying after the heavy defeat, reacting on the defeat. The Principal attributed the defeat to lack of exposure and in experience from his girls. He accepted the defeat in good fate, as he describe his opponents as worthy champions. He encouraged his girls to learn from their defeat and do better in their next game against St Marys Secondary school.
Chinaza Igwemadu who scored four goals , easily won the Man of the match, she was awarded a term Scholarship for her wonderful display by Hon. Peter Nwosu who was elated by the quality of play from the girl.
All Secondary Schools Champion continues on Friday 17th February 2023 as the male category kick of will be taken. Nnewi High school will be facing Neoma High school at St John the Cross Field Egbo.
More than 20 schools both private and public schools across Nnewi North and Ekwusigo local government are participating in this year edition.
