The 2nd Edition of the Agbor Unity cup kicked off last weekend with matches at the Agbor Township Stadium and Gbenoba Ground.
Defending Champions Ihu-iyase FC began the title defense with a 5-1 Spanking of Debutante Emerald FC. 2022 Finalists Star Peak came from behind to win Ika lions 2-1 while Ultimate Stars and Winners shared the spoils after a goalless draw
On Sunday it was a clash of two rivals Soccer stars and Rainbow, the match was keenly contested and it ended 2-2 a piece
The group stage continues today with green rangers taking on Ultimate while Rainbows will lock horns with Golden Boys at the Gbenoba ground
Over at Stadium ika lions will face off with Arewa while ihuyase will battle it out with Delta Milan
The tournament is being organized by the Agbor Coaches and Directors Union.
Tournament organizing committee Coach Alika Onyeka was delighted to see the tournament kick off and his hopeful that every thing will go on well despite the tough situation in the country at the moment.
“It tough, the weather is hot and the situation in the country is not easy at the moment but we continue to forget ahead” he stated.
