The Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation extended its goodwill to Delta state as a Scholarship award of One Hundred thousand naria was presented to Master Solomon Great Chika, a 12 years old midfielder with a very humble background from Great Avenger Football Academy.
Chairman of Delta state Football Association, DFA, Hon. Kenneth Nwoamucha who led some members of his FA board to the Ogbe primary school field where a novelty match was played to showcase little Chika ball moves in the presence of Warri Wolves Chairman, Neville Bekederemo and other stakeholders in the state.
While presenting the dummy cheque by former Super Eagles and Leeds Utd of England defender, Sam Sodje, he encouraged the award recipient and the other kids to take the game seriously and be patient for their time will come.
DFA Chairman, Chief Ken Nwoamucha thanked the Akinwunmi Foundation and revealed that little Chika proved to be a potential future star after his performance in the 2021 Delta state Head Masters Cup as he appealed to the Warri Wolves Fc Chairman and the coaches to create time to take a look at these kids.
In a quick respond, Chairman of Warri Wolves, Mr. Bekederemo said Solomon Great Chika, a child among 5 children from a single mother leaving in a market place where the mother trade will be the first player Warri Wolves will admit into its Academy following the new policy of the Nigeria National League for every NNL clubs to have a feeder team.
However, Chairman of the Seyi Akinwunmi Charity Foundation, Bar. Seyi Akinwunmi, former First Vice President, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, appreciate God for using him as a tool to contribute to the society following the extension of his Charity work to the 36 state and capital of Nigeria.
“I expect the mother to add the token as form of encouragement to improve means for Solomon Great Chika performance for both school and soccer to qualify him for the continuation of the scholarship award.
