Nigeria’s Under 18 Male Handball Team Qualify For IHF Challenge Trophy Intercontinental Championship While Under 20 Team Win Big But Out of Intercontinental Championship

The national under 18 male handball team have qualified for the IHF Trophy Intercontinental Championship with hundred percent record.

The Coach Emeka Nnamani tutored side had to really dig deep to get a slim but much needed 37-36 victory over Guinea.

With the result, Nigeria have qualified for the intercontinental championship in the youth category (under 18) without losing a match as they maintained a 100 percent form from the Africa Zone 3 tournament in Ivory Coast till the final of the continental championship in Congo.

They are also back to back champions of the IHF Challenge Trophy Continental Tournament as they also won it in 2018.

In the under 20 category (Youth), Nigeria emphatically defeated host Congo 37-18 but unfortunately it was not enough as the Coach Fidelis Obi’s tutored team lost out to Guinea on head to head rule.

This confirms that Guinea will represent Africa in the under 20 category of the intercontinental championship.
