Abia Warriors Football Club has expressed shock over the demise of Abia State FA Chairman, Sir Ephraim Chukwuemeka whose death was announced by the family yesterday in Umuahia.
In a release signed by the club Chairman, Pastor Emeka Inyama, he described the death of our FA Chairman as a colossal loss to Abia State football fraternity and to Nigeria at large.
“Sir Chukwuemeka was a father to all the professional football clubs in Abia State. “I enjoyed a father and son relationship with him and our intimate relationship dated over 30 years right from old Imo State. He never missed any of the club home games as he was always available to advice and motivate the team”
“He will be greatly missed by all as we pray for God to grant his family and the whole of Nigeria football fraternity the fortitude to bear the great loss” the Abia Warriors boss concluded.
The octogenarian who was a former Referee, also retired as a director in Abia state sports council. Until his death he was one of the longest serving FA Chairman and a strong voice in NFF congress.
