Rivers United captain, Festus Austin is ecstatic and all over the moon following the $20,000 promise redemption by the Governor Nyesom Wike to the players and club official as he vows that the team will keep supporting, loving and making him proud with pledge to go all out in their CAF Confederation Cup journey.
Bar. Chris Green announced the redemption of the promised $20,000 to the players and officials of Rivers United and after it was converted using the black market rate, it amounted to #15.6million for each individual.
“I am overwhelmed today because I couldn’t believe it, it’s like a dream that came through and as you can see today, we are very happy,” he joyfully said.
“Seeing our able governor, the number one supporter of Rivers United redeem his promise by giving us $20,000 which is equivalent to fifteen million. I can’t talk, this is just beyond me.”
“I just want to say a big thank you to his excellency, Governor Nyesom Wike. We love you and we will keep supporting you and do more for this team. We will go all out in the CAF Confederation Cup and promise to get it, thank you and God bless you,” Austin pledged as he prayed for the governor.
