NWFL congratulates Ajibade, FC Robo on Avaldsnes move

The board of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) headed by Aisha Falode, has congratulated Rasheedat Ajibade and her club, FC Robo of Lagos, on the successful deal signed by the player with a top division Norwegian professional clubside Avaldsnes FC.

An elated chairperson of the NWFL, Falode, said Ajibade has been one of the pride of the Nigerian Women’s league, doing the NWFL a great pride in the various national teams she played in.

“She has really done the NWFL proud. At a time the Nigerian league was under attack at the last edition of the AWCON in Ghana, Rasheedat together with Amarachi Okoronkwo, Anam Imo and Tochukwu Oluehi made valuable statements with their performances. We are grateful to them for the great representation.”

Falode, noted that, from available records, Avaldsnes FC of Norway is a very good club that nurtures players to greatness, going by the example of Maureen Madu who played at the club for so many years, and later graduated to the club’s youth coach before becoming the assistant coach of the senior team and then chief coach. She left the club to answer national coaching assignment after she was employed as Super Falcons’ assistant coach.

“In a nutshell, Rasheedat will surely rise higher in this club. Her new deal is also a victory for the board of the Nigeria Women Football League, we wish her good luck in her professional club career in Europe,” Falode said.
