The Ekiti state chapter of the All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Public Schools, ANCOPPS has given assurances of the cooperation of the body as the State FA continues in its drive to scout and nurture football talents from the young age using football competition amongst secondary schools in the state as the main platform.
Speaking at a meeting between the leadership of the Ekiti FA and the Ekiti ANCOPPS, the later harped that the vision of the FA is in tandem with their yearnings to use sports, in this case football, to develop the psychomotor domain of the kids, harness their talents and inculcate in them several acceptable principles of life.
Represented by the Director of Sports, Mr. Anthony Ajibare, Director of Social Welfare, Mrs. Oluwasanmi and the Secretary of the body, Mr. Omodara, the principals also disclosed that they have noticed that sports help to encourage students attendance, unanimously declaring that “football competition should be used to revive life back in schools”.
In his remarks, the Ekiti FA Chairman, Mr. Bayo Olanlege appreciated the principals for their warm reception and promised that the FA would work closely with them in ensuring that talents in schools are discovered and developed for greatness and overall benefits of the state.
Olanlege also used the medium to appreciate the efforts and cooperation of the former Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Special, Dr. Mrs. Bimpe Aderiye who coincidentally is currently a Special Adviser in the present Administration of His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, for her role in the creation and successful organization of the All Ekiti State Secondary Schools Football competition sponsored by the family of Prof. Akin Oyebode.
