All is set for the year’s ending Anambra FA event, The Super 8 starting tomorrow at the Awka City Stadium in Anambra state. The Capacity Chairman of Anambra State Football Association Gen. Chikelue Iloenyosi has expressed readiness for the event and called on Anambrarians to troop en masse to witness the very best of Anambra state football.
“We are ready and set for the big and final event of the year from the FA. The 8 participating teams have expressed their readiness and eagerness to compete and win. This tournament like I said earlier will afford us the opportunity to identify talents that we might send for trials at top NPFL and NNL teams. This is still in line with our vision of identifying football at the grassroot. I only encourage people to come out in their numbers to witness the very best of Anambra Football.”
The General went further to emphasize on the need for teams to compete fairly and justly. While encouraging them all to bring their A game to the tournament.
“We have an age bracket for this tournament. I advise and hope that all teams will abide by this rule. It is important for a lot of reasons. Because we want to establish a data bank for all the players that will be competing in this tournament. Having said that, I hope that all teams will abide by the rules, play, win and loose fair. The essence of this tournament is not for a team to win rather for teams to showcase the talents they have. That’s all.”
The tournament will start tomorrow the 29th of December and end on Saturday 10th of December 2022. The 8 teams are Uncle Rahp FC, Rangels FA, Peace FC, Anambra Roovers FC, Obosi United, De-Wilson FC, G.P World FC and DOSAD FA.
