Bayelsa Queens head coach, Domo Okara has revealed his happiness towards his team brave fight and comeback at the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League tournament despite a slow start to the competition.
Bayelsa Queens needed to win against Egyptian side, Wadi Delga for any chance of entering into the finals and they did that convincing scoring three goals in the process as they won Wadi Delga 3-0.
Domo was an active figure on the touchline, calling players and making sure they don’t slip up with vigour, passion while also motivating them.
The tactician admitted that the girls indeed played in the first half but he wasn’t convinced – ‘we controlled the game with this goal in the first half, I was not satisfied with the level of play of the girls. They fell easy. I wanted them to go all the way.”
Seeing this, Domo made tactical changes with the girls responding with more aggressiveness and preciseness leaving no scoring opportunities for thier foe
Following the victory which ensured qualification of Bayelsa Queens to the semi-final of the CAF Champions League, Domo couldn’t hide his excitement, “I am happy, really happy with my team,” he says wearing smiles on his face.
