Head coach of Ntab Vision Football Club, Alegunleye Ibiyemi Adeleke has confessed that their early goal against Unizee Football Club helped his team to win Bolowotan Cup in Lagos.
Ntab Vision defeated Unizee 2-0 in the Bolowotan Cup final which watched by mammoth crowd on Sunday at the Strong Tower football pitch, Ikorodu, Lagos.
Adeleke while chatting with Journalists admitted that it was a tough game but thanked goodness that his boys got the early goal in the first half.
“It was a high tension soaked final but I am happy that we got the first goal which gave us advantage.
“Our opponents really gave us a good fight after we scored but honestly speaking we were technically better and my players were more determined to win the game.I congratulate them for the job well done and I also thank our fans who were solidly behind us throughout the encounter,”he said.
The cup donor, who doubles as Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Alhaji Gafaar Bolowotan expressed satisfaction with the standard of play by the two finalists noted that the best team won the cup.
He congratulated Ntab Vision for their victory recorded in the final and commended the organisers for successfully organised the competition which involved 40 teams from various places in the state.
In his own comment, chairman Ikorodu Divisional Football Association IDFA, Alhaji Lukman Sonibare also expressed gratitude to God for the success of the competition and commended both finalists for giving account of themselves since the competition kicked off till final stage.
Ismail Salam opened the goal scoring in the 9th minutes to send Ntab Vision fans into frenzy.
Both teams missed some scoring chances in the first half.
The second half witnessed high level of football artistry.Unizee created scoring chances but poor finishing denied them from equaliser.
A penalty was given to Ntab Vision in the 59th minutes and was quickly converted by Andrew Micheal to confirm their supremacy over Unizee.
Ntab Vision went received a giant trophy with the same of N250, 000.unizee pocketed N150,000, while FC Elite got the sum of N100,000.
