Tojemarine Academy were at their best as they conquered the Lagos Derby on day 1 of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2022 phase 2.
In an intense match which was witnessed by several fans at Unilag Indoor Sports Hall, Tojemarine defeated fellow Lagos team Seasider 31-24. Former Seasider Boys player Yahya Owolabi who now play for Tojemarine Academy motivate the latter to defeat his former team and have a good standing in the Male Category.
In other matches of the Male Category, defending champion Kano Pillars were a recipients of ten goals and three free points as they walked over Kada Stars who didn’t show up for the league while Niger United defeated Police Machine 30-23
Confluence Stars easily defeated Benue Buffaloes 30-23 while Safety Shooters also got 10 free goals and 3 points as they walked over Owena Kings who didn’t show up for the league.
In the last match of the male category, high flying Rima Strikers had a comfortable 33-26 win over De Defenders.
In the Female Category, Defender Babes defeated Plateau Peacocks 27-23 while Rima Babes walked over Adorable Angels, who didn’t show up. Safety Babes too also walked over Kada Queens.
The last match in the female category for the day saw Bendel Dynamos led by Ngozi Obakhena, breaking the stubborn walls of Benue Queens with an easy 33-22 victory..
