Nigeria’s cadet national team, Golden Eaglets’ assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade has disclosed that the squad will return to camp early 2019, in order to start preparations for the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania.
Now that they are aware of the countries they will play against in Group A of the competition next year, Ugbade told sports247.ng that they have to start planning as soon as possible.
He reckoned that playing against the host country, Tanzania, as well as Angola and Uganda from the same region could be tricky for the Eaglets, but Ugbade is of a view that adequate preparations will make a difference for Nigeria.
Ugbade disclosed: “Camping will begin in earnest ahead of the championship, as we intend to start our preparations very early in January.
“Fresh screening will be organized to see if we can get some new players, but the main factor for the selection of our final squad still remains the MRI.”
