The Nigeria national rugby league team, Green Hawks have advanced to the next phase of qualification for the 2025 Rugby League World Cup after winning the Middle East-Africa Rugby League Championship title last week.
Green Hawks wallop their Ghanaian counterparts 30-4 in the final on Saturday at the Mansah Sabbah Field, University of Ghana in Legon, Accra to retain the Championship they won in 2019.
Nigeria reached the final of the four-nation tournament with an impressive 36-2 hammering of Cameroon in game one while Ghana defeated Kenya 26-6 to qualify for the 2022 final.
Meanwhile, Kenya dismantled Cameroon 16-0 in the third place playoff.
Nigeria will hope to become the first African country to qualify for the Rugby League World Cup when the next phase of the qualification begins on a date yet to be announced.
