Joe Aribo once again justified his selection by Ralph Hassenhuttl after not joining up with the Nigeria national team in thier two legged friendly against Algeria with a calm opener in the 49th minute against Iwobi’s Everton to give them the lead but it wasn’t enough as they ran out eventual losers.
Following his goal in the 49th minute, Frank Lampard’s side who are now unbeaten in seven games levelled up in the 54th minute through Conor Coady who is on loan from Wolves.
Everton scored two quick-fire goals with Dwight McNeil adding a second after being assisted by Aribo’s countryman, Iwobi to complete the comeback and send the away end to a deafening celebration noise.
As for Southampton, it’s nothing new. Since the start of last season, they’ve dropped a league-high 35 points from winning positions in the Premier League.
Iwobi continues his good run of games as his side are now unbeaten in seven game in all competitions.
Although he was nominated for the Premier League player of the month, he lost out to Marcus Rashford, putting the disappointment behind him to help Everton secure a big 3 points.
