Plateau United defender Ifeanyi Onyebuchi says his team is ready to give everything to ensure they make it to the lucrative group stage of the 2022/23 CAF Champions League.
Ifeanyi, who joined the Peace Boys from the relegated MFM of Lagos, said he and his colleagues have already set a target for themselves which is the group stage of CAF’s apex club competition.
“We all know what is at stake at the moment. As a team, we are working hard to ensure that we realized our collective objective. We are very focus and battle-ready for Esperance of Tunisia,” the defender enthused.
“Their pedigree in the competition does not scare us as we are confident of overcoming them here in Abuja and getting another decent result in Tunis to get the job done.” he added.
The cool-headed player explained that with the efforts put in training so far and with the advise from their coaches, he is optimistic Plateau United is on the right track to book their place in the group stage of the competition.
He commended the management of the team headed by General Manager Pius Henwan for the welfare package put in place for the team and assured that as players, they are not going to let the team down.
Plateau United defeated Aso Stade Mandji of Gabon 3-2 on aggregate to qualify for the second round preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League.
The 2017 NPFL Champions will face Tunisian side Esperance in a two legged tie for a spot in the group stage of the competition.
The match comes up on Sunday, 9th October, 2022, at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja with the return leg slated for Tunis the following week.
