“The Referee Did Not Give Justice,” Captain Moses Simon On Super Eagles Loss To Algeria

The Super Eagles of Nigeria fell to another defeat to Algeria, this time in an international friendly on Oran after earlier playing a 2-2 draw with the Algeria B side days ago Sports247 reports.

Terem Moffi put the Super Eagles in front before a penalty and a fantastic strike brought the Algerians back in front to win the game which stand-in captain, Simon Moses says was good but the referee wasn’t great.

“The game did not go the way we planned but it’s part of the job as we learn everyday and we’ll pick a lot from it,” Moses Simon said.

Asked about the officiating, Simon said, “We all know the referee didn’t give justice and the coach just said we should forget about it, keep fighting and play our game because people are watching”.

On what next after the game, the skipper was quick to promise that the team will keep giving their best to play for the country.

“We’ll encourage ourselves, motivate ourselves, play for pride, our families, ourselves and of course play for the Nigerian fans. We’ll give ourselves a boost that we can do it and I believe we have our best, even though it didn’t go as planned, we’ll keep working hard,” Simon concluded.
