Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Gafar Bolowotan has expressed confidence that Team Lagos would succeed in the national sports festival zonal elimination whick kicked off next month across six geo political zones of the country.
Bolowotan in a chat with sports 247.ng over the weekend explained that Team Lagos had started preparation insisting that Team Lagos have what it takes to do well in the zonal elimination.
“Presently Team Lagos have started preparation for the zonal elimination and I am impressed with the reports I gathered from various sports especially team sports.I believe that we can qualify from various sports when zonal elimination starts next month,”he said.
Bolowotan added that Team Lagos would surpass their last festival achievements and ensure that Lagos would continue to develop and focus more on sports development instead of hunting for ready made athletes.
“The Lagos State government under our able governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his commitment to sports development in the state and we are also searching for raw talents that would represent us in the festival which some coaches have discovered in their various sports,”he said.
He however thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to sports development in the state and promised that the commission would do everything humanly possible to ensure that Team Lagos achieve success from zonal elimination and national sports festival sheduled for November in Delta State.
