The plans for 7th Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup is expected to be released soon with the recent appointment of Mr. Promise Uwaeme, as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, (LOC).
Responding to Newsmen in Gombe, the Chairman assured the Foundation, participants as well as the sports loving people of Gombe South on his commitment towards delivering a well organized tournament with international best practices.
“I appreciate the Adamu Yola Ture Foundation for finding me worthy of chairing the affairs of this 7th edition of one of the biggest football tournament in the entire North east Nigeria. Numerically, realistically ‘7’ connotes perfection and we are determined to deliver a tournament that will surpass all the previous editions since the tourney came into existence. I am hopeful that all the stakeholders, including the fans will enjoy the new innovations we intend to introduce this year”
“Consultations are ongoing and in the coming days, the rest of the committee and sub-committee members will be announce and also the calendar will be made known publicly. We are in talks with every relevant stakeholder to ensure that, we stage a tournament that will not only discover, develop and create opportunities for the youths of Gombe South but also promote peace and unity through culture and football” he revealed
The Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup is an annual football tournament organised by the Adamu Yola Ture Foundation for grassroots teams in Gombe State Senatorial District.
