FC Robo Queens Supporters Club has congratulated Esther Oyenezide after scoring a brilliant goal that earned Super Falconets a place in the quarter-final stage of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup taking place in Costa Rica.
Her 83rd-minute thunderbolt strike was Nigeria Falconets needed to beat the Korea Republic 1-0 early this morning in an encounter full of tactical display by both sides.
In a statement issued by the secretary of FC Robo Queens Supporters Club, Okanlawon Adepegba congratulated FC Robo Queens midfielder for her impressive performance in the ongoing world cup and described Oyenezide’s goal as the best goal of the tournament.
“Our girl has made us proud in the ongoing women’s world cup. Her performances against France and the Korean Republic are commendable and we Robo Queen’s supporters congratulate Oyenezide for making Nigeria proud in the world cup. I am not surprised when she was given a player of the match award against the Korea Republic and I wish her the best of luck in her subsequent matches,” the statement stated.
Adepegba in the statement remained optimistic that Nigeria can go all the way to reach the final but urged the girls to remain focused and steadfast in their remaining matches.
“If our girls can continue like this, they would shock the world. Don,t forget that they beat European champions, France, and also beat one of the strongest women’s football nations in Asia so I think they are good to go and deliver the trophy for the country,” said Adepegba who congratulated Super Falconets for their qualification to the quarter-final.
