Though very young, eight years old Obehi Osagie already nurtures the prospect of being a tool to build a better Nigeria and world through Taekwondo when she was spotted by Sports247 at the Panamai Martial Arts Defemse Academy training.
“Taekwondo helps to build a better world when you know how to defend yourself, especially as a child and you have no one to help around you,” Obehi told Sports247.
The about-to-be youngest blackbelt holder ever, went further to advise Taekwondo athletes to ensure they do not use their skills from the sport for mischievous acts while also stating her dream of representing Nigeria at the Olympics games.
“You must not misuse Taekwondo, rather, use it for the greater good. You can learn how to defend yourself and build your self confidence through the sport,” Obehi said.
“I will like to represent Nigeria one day at the olympics. Now, I’m going to be one of the smallest to ever be a blackbelt holder in Taekwondo and that’s an achievement to show that you can be small but strong,” she concluded.
