Oluwaseyi Amos, founder of the Seamoriow Sports Complex has talked about why he decided to sponsor the project and also revealed that the sporting complex is open for inter-school football competitions.
The Seamoriow Sports Complex, which was recently unveiled, is located at Islamic Street, off Abaranje Road, Ikotun, in the Alimosho local government area of Lagos state.
The sports centre comprises a mini football pitch with dressing rooms, referee rooms, medical centre for players and officials and a VIP lounge.
Speaking to the press at the unveiling ceremony, which was attended by several top sports dignitaries and retired Nigerian professional players, Amos stated:
“The empathy that I have for the streams of youths that are wasting away because of inadequate facilities and lack of proper pitch to train so that they can maximize their potential and compete favorably with their contemporaries in any part of the world is what birthed this project.”
Amos went on to clarify that the sports complex will house a football academy and that it is also available for competitions for secondary schools in the Alimosho region.
“We are having an academy. Then we are also going to have school sporting events that are going to be incorporated into this place free of charge.
“We plan on doing a kind of competition that is going to involve all secondary schools in Alimosho in the nearest future,” Amos added.
