Dakkada F.C midfielder Lawal Muritala Adesheun expressed excitement that the Dakkada were able to conquer Enyimba in a surprising outcome in the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 37 fixture against Enyimba in Aba over the weekend and that he is confident the club can achieve success.
The Uyo-based club needed a win to keep their hope of survival on Sunday, and Dakkada did the unthinkable by defeating eight-time league champions, Enyimba 2-0 at home to secure the vital three points, keeping the fight from going down alive.
And speaking to Sports247 Nigeria on the impressive win in Aba, the 22-year-old man said he is glad that Dakkada was able to scale through while expressing his optimism about the team’s success.
He further commented that it has not been easy for the players and the technical crews but vowed they would do everything within their capacity to keep the momentum high.
“Well I’m glad we could scale through and I was optimistic about the success. First of all, God has been so faithful to us and it hasn’t been an easy task for us the players, and the technical crew we’ve worked so hard for these past weeks preparing for the games which we’re gonna conclude this weekend. Well, we’re gonna continue working hard and keep the momentum high.”
Going into the last matchday of the season, Dakkada F.C must win against visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday and hope 16th place Abia Warriors lose or draw to have a chance of staying in the top flight division.
