Crystal Palace has been forced to drop a handful of senior players including Eberechi Eze, Wilfred Ndidi, Marc Guehi, Michael Olise at home after missing out on covid-19 requirements for the trip to Australia and Singapore.
Although, the club have not confirmed which players are unvaccinated, and which players are ‘not currently fit’. Eze and Olise who are both of Nigeria descent will remain at the club along a host of other first team players having missed out of the preseason tour with strict covid-19 rules in place.
Patrick Viera’s team now have just ten senior players on thier squad in preparation for the 2022-2023 English Premier League season.
“The remainder of the first-team squad will be based in South London for a domestic training and games programme led by assistant manager Osian Roberts,” a statement read on the club’s website.
”Some of these players are not currently fit and therefore will not travel on tour, whilst some did not meet the entry requirements for Singapore or Australia when travel arrangements were made.”
One match has already been confirmed for this group of players (v QPR on 23 July), with up to two more matches to be announced in the coming days.
