The Nigerian duo of Moses Simon and Akinkunmi Amoo has been omitted from the final list of nominees for the men’s categories of the CAF Awards 2022.
Simon made the initial 30-man list of nominees for the men’s Player of the Year award following his impressive performance for both club and country.
The winger was one of Nigeria’s top players at the 2021 AFCON despite the Super Eagles being eliminated in the round of 16. He also guided Nantes to the French Cup last season.
Meanwhile, Amoo was nominated for Young Player of the Year but has now been dropped from the final five-man shortlist, which was published on the CAF website on Monday.
