Super Falcons number one goalkeeper, Chiamaka Nnadozie will not be in action on Monda when Nigeria take on the Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the opening Group C match of the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations(WAFCON) in Morocco.
The 21-year-old youngster will not feature in arguably the biggest game of the group stage due to a match suspension, after accumulating two yellow cards during the qualification rounds.
The two arch enemies will once again meet at the continental stage in a renewal of rivalry as Super Falcons look to continue their dominance in Africa, having won 9 out of the 11 previous editions of the biennial football showpiece.
Both teams met in the final which ended in a barren draw after regulation and extra time but Super Falcons won 4-3 on penalties to win the title in Ghana.
Bayana Bayana got their revenge three years later, when South Africa defeated Nigeria 4-2 in the final match of the inaugural edition of Aisha Buhari Cup that was held in Lagos.
