English side Nottingham Forest are said to be interested in Super Eagles and Torino right full-back Ola Aina for a possible move away from Italy to England. According to reports in Italy, interest has been indicated for the Nigerian defender.
The out-of-favor Torino player had earlier lamented how he lost his place in the starting lineup of Torino because he represented the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2021 rescheduled African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. In the first half of the just-concluded season, before the African Cup of Nations, Aina made 16 appearances in Serie A but on his return, he was confined to the bench and managed to make 5 appearances in the second half of the league.
Though the former Chelsea player expressed his dismay at how he was treated by the club for representing his national team, however, he never regretted wearing the green and white shirt of his country. Forest’s right back lonee Djed Spence is set to return to his mother club after his loan deal expired and Forest has switched their gaze on the prolific high-profile versatile 25-year-old Nigerian.
Though the one-time Chelsea academy player didn’t give a hint on his next move all indications point to his exit away from Torino this summer.
