FIBAWCQ: D’Tigers Return To Action After Ban Is Lifted

After the banning and unbanning of the Nigerian basketball team from playing in international competitions, the male national team, the D’Tigers will return to action in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.

The D’Tigers will play in the third window of the first round of the qualifiers in Rwanda between July 1 and July 3.

Window 3 of the World Cup Qualifiers takes place in Rwanda, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire as 12 teams will be decided from this round and they will advance to the Second Round of the African Qualifiers.

D’Tigers lead Group A with 5 points with the only loss against Cape Verde 79-71 in the November window in a group that has also Mali, and Uganda.

Nigeria will again play against Cape Verde on Friday, July 1, next play Mali then Uganda on Sunday.

8 foreign players will be joined by 4 local players and are to be coached by Alan Major and Ogoh Odaudu as they aim to shoot the D’Tigers to the World Cup
