Slavia Prague has rewarded Nigerian winger Moses Usor with a three-year first team contract after the youngster impressed for the club’s B side last season.
Usor first joined Slavia from 36 Lions FC in April on a school boy contract with the club’s reserve team. The player impressed there, scoring 6 goals and providing 3 assists in nine matches in the Czech third tier.
Usor made his first-team debut against Sparta Prague on the penultimate day of last season in May. The 20-year-old has now been handed a three-year professional contract that runs until 2025.
“To get this far I needed determination and hard work,” Usor said after signing his first pro contract.
Usor is one of three Nigerians currently on the books at the Czech giants along with Peter Olayinka and Yira Sor, all three products of the famed Lagos based side, 36 Lions FC.
“I feel great. I’m happy because my dream was to play alongside my teammates Yira Sor and Peter Olayinka. I’m so glad to be here with them. Slavia is a dream team for young players from Nigeria.”
Usor went further to talk about his journey from the Nigerian lower divisions and how he was scouted from a tryout program.
“It was a difficult journey, but in the end it turned out well. I was one of the selected players of one program in Nigeria and in the end I got a residence permit.
“My dream is to play in the Champions League and play alongside my compatriots, which I have already done. I played with Yira and Peter. That makes me happy.
“It’s a great feeling to be here, because playing for Slavia, especially for the A-team, is my dream. I’m happy, I feel good among the boys. There are a lot of great players I can play with and improve.” he added.
