Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi has departed from his Cyprus club, Omonia Nicosia after just two year at the club, Sports247 can confirm.
The announcement was made by the 29-year-old defender in a social media post on Friday evening thanking the management, coaches and teammates of Omonia Nicosia for the wonderful moments they had and the fans of the club for their support and love.
“I am honoured to play for Omonia, in two years we have been able to create history.For decades titles were missing in Omonia & I am glad in two years, we won three titles & restored the pedigree of the club,”Abdullahi wrote on his Twitter handle.
“This is not a goodbye message, but to say we will see in the future.
I appreciate the management, coaches, backroom staff, and my teammates for the amazing memories we shared.
“To Omonia fans, I appreciate your support and love, I had an amazing memories.
Abdullahi joined the Cypriot outfit on a free transfer in 2020 on a two-year contract.
He won the league title with the Omonia Nicosia in his first season and the Cypriot Cup and Super Cup in the just concluded season that is now his last at the club.
