Chairman of Nilayo Sport Management and former Ogun state sports commissioner, Bukola Olopade has emphasized that “building the capacity of young people is the key to excellence” in Africa.
The sports administrator made this emphasis while speaking exclusively to Sports247 Nigeria as he lauded the former Brand and Communication manager of Nilayo, Damilola Pedro who was awarded the prize of the FIFA/CIES International University Network 2020 by football governing body, FIFA and International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES).
According to FIFA/CIES, Damilola was presented with the award for her brilliant dissertation on eSports League System in Africa.
Olopade stressed that with an institute like Nilayo Sports Management in Africa that has the credentials to grow sports the way it should, the continent will keep progressing.
“We to promote sporting activities from grassroot level to international level, by building the capacity of young people to ensure that we maintain excellence.”
“Damilola is currently redefining eSports in Africa but she started since 2018 with us when she led the team to organize eSports championship Eseries and today she is recognized with her work at Gamr, West Africa’s biggest eSports platform.” He concluded.
