Fulham have been linked with a summer transfer for FC Porto star Zaidu Sanusi. According to reports, the recently promoted Premier League club are willing to pay €12 million for the left-back.
As per Sport Witness, Fulham have included the Nigerian in their summer target list as they prepare for life back in England’s topflight after one season in the Championship. The club’s manager, Marco Silva is looking at the Primeira Liga to strengthen his side’s squad, and has the Super Eagles player in his sights.
Sanusi has three years left on his contract with Porto with a €50m release clause. The reigning Portuguese champions will not let him leave on the cheap and will demand a fee in the region of €20m.
Sanusi made 40 appearances across all competitions for Porto last season. He netted three times, including the memorable winner in stoppage time against Benfica in May, which gave Porto their 30th Portuguese title.
Sanusi joined Porto from another Primeira Liga club Santa Clara in 2020. In his two full seasons with the Dragons, the 24-year-old has made 81 appearances. He is currently on international duty with Nigeria, where the Super Eagles will face Sao Tomé and Principe in their second 2023 AFCON qualifier on Monday.
