At the end of the Day 4 at the ongoing African Athletics Championship in Mauritius, South Africa top the medal table with a total of 25 medals including six gold medals, nine silver medals and ten bronze medals followed by Kenya with a total of 12 medals including five gold medals, two silver medals and five Bronze medals.
Sade Olatoye who won gold in the Women’s Hammer throw was Nigeria’s sole medallist on Day 4 of the 22nd edition of the African Senior Athletics Championships in Mauritius, her victory was enough to keep Nigeria in the third position on the medal table, with four gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal making a total of 7 medals
Nigeria is tied on the medal table with Algeria that have an identical medal result as the West African nation.
Nigeria will be contesting for seven finals today which is the Day 5 of the tournament, with hope of increasing their ranking on the medal table.
