Mauritius 2022: Amusan Wins Nigeria’s First Gold Medal At The Athletics African Championship

Nigeria’s top athlete has won Nigeria’s first gold medal at the African Athletics Championships in Mauritius, defending her 100m Hurdles title in a Championship unofficial record of 12.58s.

Tobi continued her wonderful form from yesterday after she cruised to winning her heat convincingly in the 100m hurdles.

Tobi was the African champion from the last edition and she will continue to reign as champion after this performance.

Tobi’s win will now be the motivation for Team Nigeria as they look to finish higher than the third position they finished at in Asaba, 2018

This is some good news for Team Nigeria after it was reported earlier today that medal hopeful and three time African championship winner, Ese brume will not make it down to Mauritius due to passport issues.
