36 Lion Football Club and Jimmy Football Club have booked a place in the next round of the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State FA Cup.
In the matches played so far on Saturday across four centres,36 Lion walloped Lion Hearty 3-0, Jimmy FC recorded biggest win by defeating Symbol FC 5-3,Smart City Feeders also thrashed Hyraj 3-1 as Ighalo Academy suffered 0-1 defeat in the hands of Glory Boys.
In other matches played,SPG lost 3-4 to ODIC on penalty shoot out after playing 2-2 at the regulation time.
Dominion Hot Spur also lost 2-4 to Leon on penalties after one goal apiece at the full time.Gloriousday defeated Maryland United 3-2,Jo Sportyne beat G12 FC 3-2 on penalties after barren draw at the regulation time.
Billionaire FC walkovered Lekki Junior Strikers, while Chekas United lost 4-5 to Liberty Stars on penalties after 2-2 at the full time.Melody also beat Fresh Talents 2-1,while Be Platinum defeated Team 360 5-4 on penalties after barren draw in full time. Also CATS beat M22 7-6 on penalties after 2-2 at the full time.
Speaking about the team victory,36 Lion boss,Liameed Gafar admitted that their match against Lion Hearty was a tough one but thanked goodness that his team advanced to the next stage.
“Although we beat them but it was not an easy match for us.Our goal we saw in the first half really helped us to control the game and we are looking forward to our next match and I am using this medium to congratulate my Players and coaching crew for the job well done,”he said.
Meanwhile Chairman Technical Committee of Lagos FA, Dotun Coker has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of teams so far in the competition and reminded the to shun any vices that can tarnish the image of the competition.
