Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia attacker, Ahmed Musa has stated delight that he was at the weekend named winner of Sports Personality of The Year Award at an across-board event.
In the face of opposition for the title from other sports stars in various events, Musa took top spot at the 2018 Future Awards Africa.
Musa beat off Super Eagles’ teammate, Wilfred Onyinyen Ndidi, national hurdler Tobi Amusan, female basketball star Evelyn Akahtor and rapidly rising taekwondo ace Thursdaline Peter.
The award adds to the honours’ list for Musa, who was also voted to the top accolade at the 2018 Nigerian Sports Awards.
Other winners on the night were singer Simisola popularly known as Simi, actress Zainab Balogun, and comedian Mark Angel.
The awards is aimed at celebrating young, diverse and innovative young Africans between the ages of 18 and 31, who are making a difference through social good, social enterprise, and creativity.
Musa stated on social media: “I am happy with this award given me. I pray that Allah will continue to bless the organisers.”
