Dakkada FC lost 2-3 to Rivers United on Matchday 30 of the Nigeria Professional Football League 21/22 season which leaves them almost confirmed for relegation into the NNL.
A late Rivers goal condemned the Uyo side to a defeat at the nest of champions which Muritala Lawal attributes to a loss of concentration.
“The game started smoothly, we had control of the game up till when we scored a second,” Lawal told Sports247.
“Later on, a little loss of concentration set in, and then we lost the game so it was a bad game but not a bad life,” he added.
Dakkada next face another team who are not far off from the relegation waters, Kano Pillars and Lawal is hopeful the team will step up.
“We’re hoping for the best in our next games. With our hard work and the encouragement of our coaches, we believe we will be able to leave the relegation zone and also with the support of our fans who were not happy about the last result,”
“We’re assuring them (the fans) that we’ll do better in our next games and leave the relegation zone,” he concluded.
