Remo Stars fell to a shock defeat on matchday 31 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) 2021/22 season to relegation-threatened Kano Pillars.
The Sai Masu Gida boys picked up one of the two away wins of the week after denting the continental hopes of Remo Stars, defeating them 3-1 in Ikenne, Ogun state, a loss which captain of the Ogun side, Nduka Junior blamed on lack of cutting edge but remains focused for the rest of the season.
“We were unable to convert our chances, they got theirs and they converted them,” Junior told Sports247.
“I spoke with the team yesterday and we need to pick up the pieces and move on as it’s football where u win some, lose some or draw and it can’t be rosy at all times,” he said.
Remo Stars next travel to Ibadan to face strong rivals Shooting Stars in a midweek fixture and the skipper says the team remains focused to win all games.
“It’s a derby game and won’t be easy. However, we want to win all games irrespective of the result in the last game,” he concluded.
