Following the success of the just concluded first round of Ikeja Divisional Football Super League, some club owners, managers and coaches whose teams are playing in the league have commended the organisers for the job well done.
Some of the football stakeholders who attended the meeting with organisers to review the league told journalists that they were satisfied with the organization, officiating and standard of play by the participating teams.
Flexy Academy manager,Egor Washington said he was impressed with the first round of the league and commended the organisers for working round the clock to make the league a competitive.
“Let me commend the organisers for the success of the first round of the league. The league has really exposed many of these players to the limelight. I really commend the organisers, refrees and even the media for their support toward the league,” he said.
Washington popularly known as Black Mourinho urged the organisers to work on the grey areas before the second round of the league. He admitted that the second round would be tough but boasted that his club would be better prepared.
In his won comment, chairman of Legacy FC, Monday Omoruyi expressed satisfaction with the league and urged the coaches and managers to educate their players on the laws of the game.
While president of Atlas Academy, Ekene Umejei thanked the organisers for working round the clock to make the league a competitive one for the clubs. He explained that the first round of the league was very tough and interesting and urged the organisers to work harder and ensure that all the teams enjoy level playing ground in the second round of the league.
Flying Barton manager, Okechukwu Eze applauded the organisers for the job well done but noted that there are some grey areas where organisers need to work on before the resumption of the league.
Meanwhile chairman Ikeja Divisional Football Association, Taiwo Rafiu Alagbe has warned teams to shun vices that can ruin league saying that there are some club owners who have committed one offence or the other in the first round.
He said any club violates the rules in the second round would be punished accordingly. He however urged the referee rees to stay away from bribery or inducement from any club saying that any referee or official found guilty would face disciplinary action.
