With few matches already decided on Saturday, referees involved in today’s remaining games have been enjoined to consider the Rules of the Game while on the field of play.
This charge came from the President of the Nigeria Referees Association, Otunba Tade Azeez.
Otunba Tade Azeez informed the referees that having gone this far with the league this season with organisers doing the needful, what is expected from the officiating crew is correct interpretation of the laws of the game.
He therefore asked those on duty to show proper officiating before, during and after the matches.
A budding prodigy to watch out in the domestic scene from the FCT referees council, Onyemezie Chidiebere will be the cynosure of all eyes at the Lekan Salami Stadium Ibadan, Oyo State, when homers, 3SC play host to neighbours from Lagos, MFM. Under the watch of a physical fitness instructor of Benue Council, Magareth Aku, two assistants from Kaduna and Edo states; Yahaya Ikara and Imuetinyan Ikponwonsa respectively will be on the lines.
As Kano Pillars entertain Heartland, a federal civil servant of Yobe Council, Lamido Ahmed will lead two others; Maaji Mohammed of Niger and Bayelsa’s Johnbull Felagha for the game while a retired premier league referee and lecturer of Oyo State, Dr Odukoya Segun is the Assessor.
An army officer and Deputy Secretary General of the NRA, Col Nicholas Achikasim is in Port hacourt to assess the referees for the Rivers vs Remo clash, where a seasoned arbiter from Kano council, Yusuf Garba is the referee while former Chairman of Lagos council, Prince Bashiru Kosoko oversees what the refereeing team led by Alfa Sadiq of FCT will do in the Katsina vs Enyimba game.
