Chief Operating Officer (C.E.O) of Jacboxer Entertainment Promotions, Ike Enwereuzor has disclosed that he intends to host a boxing tournament in Nigeria in order to discover local boxing talent.
Enwereuzor revealed this in an interview with Sports247.ng when discussing the coming of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather to Nigeria. Mayweather was in Nigeria on Monday as part of a global tour promoting his upcoming exhibition fight against Don Moore in Dubai on May 14.The former WBC Super featherweight champion also stated that he intends to open a boxing academy in Nigeria.
“I’m sure sooner or later we’re going to see him [Floyd Mayweather] back again to do some more serious things,” Enwereuzor said. “We’re working together with him to discover some of these talents. That is why we’re looking for all the people that have what it takes. And we’ll put together a tournament for them to meet each other and then we’ll discover who the best is. That is the plan that Jacboxer Promotions have.
“Now the boxers have a reason to take their training very seriously because a lot of doors are about to open. If you don’t take it seriously when the door opens you’ll not be ready to do what it takes. So stay tuned, watch out for Jacboxer Entertainment Promotions USA.”
