Chief Operating Officer (C.E.O) of JACBOXER Entertainment Promotions, Ike Enwereuzor has said that Floyd Mayweather’s visit to Nigeria is a welcome development for the sport in the country.
Boxing great, Mayweather visited Nigeria as part of a global tour promoting his upcoming exhibition fight against Don Moore in Dubai on May 14. The American also paid a visit to APC presidential candidate and Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi at his Abuja residence early Monday morning.
JACBOXING Entertainment Promotions C.E.O, Enwereuzor Mayweather’s visit will draw more interest in the sport among Nigerians. He told Sports247:
“It is brave of Floyd Mayweather to visit Nigeria to meet some people and to get to find out a little bit more about Nigeria. We have been talking to him about it for a very long time. It is a good thing for boxing in the country. Now more people will get to know that boxing is something here. It’s a welcome development.
“People are going to be aware and the boxers also will be more fired up. Although I would have liked to see him visit a few places to really see the condition of boxing there.
“You know he just stopped by for a few hours just to see the country, meet a few people. I’m sure sooner or later we’re going to see him back again to do some more serious things. We’re working together with him also to discover some of these talents. That is why we’re looking for all the people that have what it takes.”
