Elder Paul Bassey has brought back sons of the soil to Akwa United with the likes of Mfon Udoh, Ndifreke Effiong, Ezekiel Bassey and Emmanuel Etim all signed with the Promise Keepers after spending time away from the State.
Ezekiel Bassey and Emmanuel Etim joined the club last Season while Mfon Udoh and Ndifreke Effiong only recently joined The Promise Keepers.
They were signed with the hopes of keeping the promises of the club’s prestigious status by coming out with good performances as the season start soon.
Mfon Udoh was with Akwa united 2014 where he scored 16 goals to help the escape relegation before leaving the following year to join Enyimba International where he set highest goals in a single NPFL Season record in his debut season
Ndifreke Effiong was part of the Nigeria U-23 team that won gold medal at the AFCON 2016 held in Dakar, Senegal.
Both players are looking to contribute immensely as the club seeks to win the NPFL for the first time in its history.
