It was a 56th birthday celebration for philanthropist and owner of Remo Stars and Beyond Limits, Honorable Kunle Soname, and the CEO of the clubs want the team to get a continental ticket for his sake.
Speaking to Sports247, Mr. Lukmon said “we’re here to celebrate the life of our president and to appreciate him for what he has done for sports and humanity in general.”
“Beyond good performance this season in the NPFL, we want him to have a feel of continental football. That would be an appropriate gift from Remo Stars,” the CEO added.
Mr Lukmon was the CEO when the team gained promotion for the NNL into the top flight and he gave his assessment of the 1st division football so far for the team.
“Well, being in the top 5 from start till now, says a lot. With a little more preparation, we might just get the team into a better-diminished position and that’s a continental slot,” Lukmon said.
“Passion for development must be there and not be driven by money. Passion brings commitment and our nonchalant attitude and not being in the position for excellence have effects on the development of our football. For every club, if we focus on development then we’ll do things differently,” he said as regards administration and leadership in Nigeria football.
